  • IN 1860 the south runned off of farming but instead of the people that owned the farms do the work they bought african americans to do it for them
  • These African Americans suffered. They usually worked close to 10 hours a day
  • But then is 1860 a civilwar broke out in America where the south supported slavery and the north did not
  • But then in 1863 Lincon passed the Enporcalmation Procalmation which free all of the slaves
  • After this many of the freed slaves join the Union army to fight and this help the win the war in 1864
  • Once the war ended all slaves gained there freedom form the 13th amendment
