Storyboard Text

  • The woman use different tools to make clothing like the brain of a deer would be made into paste and rubbed into the skin of the deer.
  • Some houses are 200 feet long and 18 feet wide. Some can fit 12 families.
  • We build our houses near water so we can drink the water and have food to hunt or fish.
  • We build our longhouses away from each other because if there is a fire, it won't spread.
  • After the men hunt the animal we have to stretch it out on frames to soften. After that, we sew the fur or skin together to make the clothing.
  • As one of women of the tribe I am responsible for making the clothing. I usually sew deer skin but I also sew fox or elk.
