What is a socialist? A person who believes that the economic system should be operated either by the workers or the government.
They were often angry with the capitalist group as the capitalists did not care about their views and were the only ones who benefited.
KARL MARX was a popular idol for many socialists - he was a German man who promoted socialism. Many believed in his views.
Something called the UTOPIAN SOCIALISM arose - it was a world where citizens would share work and profit, but it was believed to be too idealistic and many did not agree with the idea.
Early socialists either believed that instead of completely removing the capitalists’ economic system, it should be reformed, or they thought that the capitalist structure needed to be demolished and rebuilt on a completely new set of moral beliefs.
This meant that there was no private ownership of property, no classes and no conflicts between the rich and poor.
