Scout, who is the narrator of "To Kill a Mockingbird" is a young six-year old girl. She seems to be a tomboy for she prefers overalls as her daily wearing than anything else. She also seems to be quite advanced for her age due to her liking to read. For she spent time reading with her father, Atticus Finch.
Jem, who is the older brother of Scout Finch and son of Attic Finch is a young ten-year old boy.

Charles Baker, also known as Dill in "To a Kill a Mockingbird" is also a young boy who visits Maycomb every summer from Mississippi to stay with his aunt. He becomes best friends with Scout and Jem when staying. However, after hearing about Boo Radley , he has made it his goal to get him to come out.
Atticus, is the father of Scout and Jem Finch. He is a wise, kind, and fair man. Unlike, many people living in Maycomb who spread rumors about the Radley family even when they don't know what has happened. Atticus will keep to himself and never say anything he knows is not true. He is also a common man due to working as a lawyer for his job or employment.

Calpurnia, is the Finches' housekeeper within the story. However, she is more to the family than just that. Since Scout and Jem's mother died she has acting as that mother figure for them. For she practically raised them. She is a strong, positive, female influence in Scout and Jem's lives.
Walter Cunningham, is a young boy who is small in height even though he is nearly as old as Jem Finch. He is quite shy and bashful. However, he is polite.
