Highway Transportation System (HTS)
There are 3 components to the HTS: People, Vehicles, and Roadways
People interact with the HTS - by crossing the street, being aware of the drivers around them, walking on/near roadways, and safely operating their vehicle.
Vehicles are a vital component of the HTS. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, buses, school buses are just some of the many vehicles included in the HTS. Interactions include stopping to let another car pass and obeying traffic lights and signs.
Both people and vehicles interact with roadways, the last component of the HTS. A roadway can be a dirt lane or an expressway. We utilize roadways every day, either by driving (or being driven) to various destinations or even walking through town.
