Mrs.Caroline was already nervous to teach and when she figured out not all the kids were on the same level. Mrs.Caroline may not have reacted correctly but Scout didn't show her any grace.
I hate Mrs.Caroline.
"Scout, tell your father to stop teaching you."
Mrs.Caroline told Scout she was gonna whip her but instead only patted her hand with a ruler. Every kid in the classroom laughed at the fact Mrs.Caroline thought that was a woopen. The kids laughing is another example of not showing grace.
"I would have showed her pity if she had been nicer."
Scout was starting to feel bad for her teacher but remembered that Mrs. Caroline was mean to her and then she lost all pity she had for her.
This isn't Winston County
Scout comes home from school and tells Atticus she doesn't want to go to school and ask him to teach her.
You never went to school and you do alright. Don't make me go to school
Scout your going to school
Scout is completely done with school because of her teacher but Aticus is showing Mrs.Caroline grace by being kind. You would think he would be mad since Mrs. Caroline said he was teaching Scout wrong. Instead he telling Scout to try to go to school again.
Mrs. Caroline told me to tell you to stop teaching me because your doing it wrong. Don't send em back please.
"You'll never understand a person until you consider things from his point of view"
Scout realizes that her teacher was just trying to do her best.
"If Walter and I had put ourselves in her shoes we would have seen that it was an honest mistake. We could not expect her to learn all Maycombs way in one day."
