- Kings were at the top of the social structure and ruled over their respective city-states. One king was always in charge of one city-state only. These kings were believed to be chosen by gods and could communicate with them.
- Merchants and Artisans
- Priests had almost as much power as the kings. They were born into there role, and had a lot of influence on the society for their religious connections.
- Commoners
- Warfare was very common for the Mayans, so many warriors were needed. Most battles were between Mayan city-states, and often ended in burning city-states and/or enslavement of the losing side. Nobles were
