- It was a bright sunny day, when Angela was going on her morning walk along the beach. She had tripped and fell due to a big giant rock, covering what seemed to be a bone from an old creature. It turned out to be a monkey paw.
- She had questioned if she wanted to bring it home or not, but there was a mysterious man on the street wondering what she was holding. It turned out that he was a previous holder of the monkey paw and told her not to keep it, or else there would be consequences. He also told Angela that there were 3 wishes you could grant on it. The poor man begged of Angela not to take it, but she did anyway.
- As Angela was heading home, she had been pondering what to wish for. She couldn't think of it right away, so she waited and told her family about the paw instead. They insisted that she wished for good grades or to be more athletic. Obviously, Angela didn't listen to her parents, but all of the sudden, her brother tells her to wish for a dog. Angela thought this was a great idea. she wanted to test out if it worked or not, and didn't think anything of it.
- When Angela got home, she layed in her bed and rested with her cat. There was no dog, so she had thought that the monkey's paw did not work, and the man on the street was crazy. That night, Angela had horrible nightmares. As the sun was rising, and Angela got up, he had noticed that her cat was gone. She looked all around the house, but she couldn't seem to find him.
- As Angela went outside to not only go on her morning walk, but to find her cat, she saw that there was a dog sleeping on her porch, in front of her door. Angela screamed so loud the whole neighborhood could hear her. Her brother had rushed to the door to see what all the commotion was all about, and he too was in shock. Angela looked all around the neighborhood, desperately looking for her cat, but she could not find him.
- Eventually, Angela goes home, giving up on looking for her cat. All her hope was lost, but she had remembered that she had two wishes left on her monkey's paw. Angela decided to wish her cat back. This cat was different though. He was rude and mean, and Angela thought it would be good to just make her last wish to not have any pets, and to just get rid of that nasty monkey's paw.
