Grendel bears hatred, laughs at the thought of killing, his eyes gleam in the darkness, and he snarls
Grendel is Gone
Beowulf allowed Grendel to kill some of his warriors to get a sense of his weaknesses and to lure him in so he has a sense of security
Grendel as an opponent
The theme resulting from the battle shows that good triumphs evil.
It was almost as if a portal had opened and took Grendel back to hell.
Grendel was a formidable opponent because he was invulnerable to weapons it signifies that Beowulf is brave and it's a fight that needs to be done one on one
Beowulf defeated Grendel so he would be immortal because his story will be told and passed on to others
