  • "Daedalus envied his nephew's superior inventiveness. He became obsessed with the fear that his nephew would outshine him and he would die in obscurity. Under the guise of showing Perdix the view from the top of Athena's temple on the Acropolis, he pushed Perdix off the roof" (page 148)
  • "When Minos learned of Theseus's escape, he blamed Deadalus. AS punishment he imprisoned Daedalus and his young son, Icarus, in the Labyrinth" (page 149) 
  • Be careful Icarus and follow lead
  • "However, Pasiphae, remembering Daedalus's helpfulness, secretly unchained the father and son" (page 149) 
  • "When Daedalus finished his invention, he fitted one pair of wings upon himself, slowly raised himself into the air, and practiced using his new wings to balance his body in the air" (page 149)
  • "Like a hovering mother bird, Daedalus urged Icarus to follow close behind him. He continued to instruct by demonstrating the movement of his own winged arms and by carefully supervising his sn's motions" (page 150)
