  • The Northwest territory is crucial to the growth and development of this nation go forth and take the Indian territory.
  • Anthony Wayne this is our second defeat, lead your troops back to their territory and take it over
  • Expecting British help, the Native Americans set up at British Fort Miami clashing with Wayne's troops with about two thousand natives.
  • The "Indians" retreat back to British held Fort Miami. Because the British not wanting war with the United States, they do not help the "Indians." The battle of fallen timbers crushed "Indian" hopes of keeping the Northwest Territory. 
  • Twelve native tribes signed the Treaty of Greenville and surrendered the northwest territory as property to the U.S. government.
