Storyboard Text

  • Exposistion
  • Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • The main character doesn't think he is crazy, but he killed an older man. The old man had never done anything to him and was actually quite nice.
  • Rising Action
  • The old man had a pale, blue eye, which drove the main character out of his mind. Every night leading up to the killing, he would go into the old man's room and cast a single ray of light right on the man's blue eye.
  • Rising Action
  • On the eighth night, when he was moving the lantern, the old man woke up and shrieked. The main character could hear the old man's heart beat very loudly as time passed, so he dragged him onto the floor and pulled the bed over him. After the old man was dead, he pulled him out and dismembered the corpse by each limb.
  • Climax
  • The next morning, a policeman showed up from ashriek that had been heard in the night and needed to check the premises. The main character proudly showed him around the house since he had placed the corpse under the floorboards with no trace of blood.
  • All of a sudden, the main character began to hear a heart beat grow louder and louder, it frightened him very much. He thought the police were making a fool out of him by acting like they didn't hear the noise.
  • The main character was finally driven by the sound to admit to killing the older man and told them exactly where he had placed the corpse.
