  • This is ridiculous! Repeal all the new taxes besides the one on tea and send 1000 troops to Boston to take control!
  • King and Queen of Britain
  • He's so annoying...
  • Um, ok...
  • March 5th, 1770 (Boston Massacre)
  • Due to the Townshend Acts, the Colonists boycotted British goods and the British had to back down. This annoyed the king and he sent 1000 British troops to Boston.
  • December 16th, 1773
  • How could they tax us? We have no say in the government! We should get them back!
  • NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!
  • The Colonists were NOT happy and the tension in Boston grew.
  • December 16th, 1773 (Boston Tea Party)
  • On March 5th, a group of colonists began verbally abusing a soldier, more Colonists joined in and more soldiers supported their comrade. The Colonists threw snowballs, rocks and oyster shells at the soldiers and the soldiers, outnumbered, panicked and shot. 5 civilians were killed.

  • On December 16th, a group of patriots known as the Sons of Liberty set their sight on the last remaining tax, tea.
  • We need a disguise so they don't punish us.

  •  They disguised as Native Americans and went down to Boston Harbour. The Sons of Liberty climbed on to a British merchant ship loaded with tea in front of thousands of spectators.
  • And threw nearly 10,000 pounds of tea overboard. This event later came to be known as 'The Boston Tea Party.'
