  • The aliens that came in the meteor earlier, don't want us to leave.
  • Tommy, come over here and stop that kind of talk.
  • Rising Action
  • Can you get the car started Les?
  • No dice.
  • Maple Street is full happy neighbors always getting along. It started as a normal day, when all the sudden a flash of light zooms through the sky. Quickly, the power goes out in all the houses.
  • Rising Action
  • I have seen him look up at the stars in the middle of the night.
  • Les is the alien! His car started by itself!
  • A little boy, Tommy, claims that the flash of light carried aliens. He says this is always what happens in his stories. They sabotage the people and make them go against each other. There may even be an alien among the neighborhood. Everyone laughs at his idea, at least for now.
  • Climax
  • The neighborhood is frantically searching for answers to their problems. Their power went out when the light appeared overhead. In order to search for help, a man named Les Goodman tried starting his car, and with no luck, it just added onto the crowd’s curiosity.
  • Resolution
  • This world is full of Maple Streets. And we'll go from one to the other and let them destroy themselves.
  • Suddenly, Goodman’s car starts by itself, nowhere near Les. With no other option to turn to, Les gets blamed for everything. The crowd starts making exscuses to explain everything going on. Over all the commotion, Steve tries to calm everyone down.
  • No one else's power is working.
  • People, let's not be a mob!
  • I swear it's not me!
  • Vroom! Vroom!
  • As night falls, suspicion raises throughout the neighborhood. More accusations are made, and all trust is lost between families. Steve remains the only logical one, trying to make sense of everything.
  • Charlie has to be the one!
  • Tommy is the alien!
  • It's got to be Steve!
  • Have you all gone crazy?
  • The residents of Maple Street argue the whole night, switching sides every minute. Meanwhile, on a hill nearby, sits the spaceship the flashed across the sky not too long ago. Turns out Tommy was right, the aliens plan to go street to street, letting the people destroy themselves. They start with Maple Street, but their are plenty more Maple Streets in this world.
