Jem Is the older brother to Scout. He loves to play with her at home, but wants nothing to do with her while their at school. he is always trying to give her advice and scold her when she does stuff wrong to help her out.

Dill is a young boy. He is just one year older than scout, but is very short for his age. his real name is Charles Baker Harris. He is very exiting and always comes up with crazy plans. He is also always telling stories of his dad trying to one-up Atticus. Dill is a pathological liar.
"I'm little but I'm old,"(Lee 8)
"Teach me?... He hasn't taught me anything, Miss Caroline. Atticus ain't got time to teach me anything,"(Lee 22)
I didn't know better than not to read to her, and she held me responsible--listen Atticus, I don't have to go to school!"(Lee 40)
Scout is the Narrator of the story. she is a young girl in first grade. Scout is very intelegent, even able to properly read, do to her father teaching her. Her real name is Jean
Atticus is the father of Scout and Jem. He is a lawyer and make good money. He teaches his children a lot and is a very wise. He is a single father after his wife died.
Calpurnia is the housekeeper and cook to the Finch family. she is wise and speaks properly. Scout and her get in a lot of fights because Scout does things that get her in trouble. Calpurnia acts as a sort of mother figure to Scout and Jem.
Water Cunningham is a young boy that goes to school with Scout. his family is very poor and can't afford much food. Scout and Jem commonly invite him over for dinner. Walter is also is able to hold up an intelligent conversation with Atticus. Scout and Walter know each other well because Atticus did some law work for Walter's dad. Scout often make fun of Walter.
