Arrival at Roanoke
Colony from August to October
After John White Leaves...
The arrival was like this: English supply ships failed to reach Roanoke Island then the colonists returned to England. Through the course of their expedition they went through many obstacles to get to Roanoke Island. The last fact is that the settlement did survive but bad relationships with the the natives and food shortages plagued this colony
John White stayed with the colony as they were slowly running out of supplies. Therefore he leaves the colonists to get more supplies. John White did not come back in time so the colonists left to Croatoan Island.
The scenario I believe that is most likely is that the colonists traveled to Croatoan Island. A message was carved in a tree that said 'CROATOAN'. John White told colonists to carve the name of the place they would go if they left Roanoke Island and they did, Croatoan is a name of an island. Finally we have the oral history of the Hatteras Indians all pointing to Croatoan. THIS PROVES THIS THEORY CORRECT!
