  • Industrialization of the Soviet Union, an event that was long overdue. Russia wasn't in any state to industrialize after they lost the Crimean war in 1856. So many years later in 1889, Sergei Witte was put in charge of overseeing the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway system. This was the first big step to industrializing Russia
  • Bolshevik Revolution 1917
  • Nicholas II was the last Tsar of Russia and Last of the Romanov rule. Bloody Sunday was a massacre when his soldiers open fired on unarmed civilians during a protest march. 26 were shot, 14 of them were dead. Because of the way Bloody Sunday was handled, he was forced to abdicate his power and was later executed.
  • Lenin In Control1917-1924
  • The 'Red Army' were also known as the Bolsheviks. The Bolsheviks were communists in Russia Led by Lenin. They believed in revolution. The 'white army' were also known as the Mensheviks. They were led by Irakli Tsereteli and they believed that collab-ing with the upper class would be better than a Revolution. The mensheviks were democratic socialists.

  • This was a period of revolution, socially and politically. Lenin was the head of the Bolsheviks and led them on many marches. Eventually they launched a 'Nearly Bloodless' coup d'etat to abolish monarchy. More specifically to abolish the Duma of Alexander Kerensky.
  • Lenin was the leader of the Bolsheviks. He promised Peace, Land, and Bread to the poor. He came into power after the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 when they overthrew the Duma. He had communist views, and was inspired by Karl Marx.
