- Hi! I couldn't help but over hear you talking about the Quartering Act. What was it?
- Of course! The Quartering Act started in 1765 and ended in 1767. The Parliament made the colonies responsible for housing British soldiers in barracks, local inns, and if they needed to, in their own homes.

- So, was that really a good idea, or a kinda dumb idea?
- Well, people thought it was not a good idea because they feared they would turn on the citizens.

- So, colonist were forced to house British soldiers, even though they thought it was a bad idea because they were scared the soldiers would turn on them?
- Exactly!
