After the death of both of her parents, Beli was snatched by some folks in the Socorro clan for money from the Cabrals'. When the plan doesn't work, they sell Beli and she becomes a servant.
Beli tries to go to school, but her owners aren't having any of it. They want her to work. She skips out on work and attends class. As a result, Beli gets into a fight with her owners. The evil man splashes hot oil on her back.

Still mourning for her husband's death, La Inca hears about the deaths of Jackie and Astroid. She cleaned herself up and began looking for Beli. As rumors about a burned girl that was a relative of La Inca, but she didn't believe the rumors at first. She then asked her neighbor and dough-kneader to drive her to where she lived. As she looked her in the eyes, she saw the Abelard and Socorro's staring back at her.
