Storyboard Text

  • Hi! I'm Bill.  I am about to go on a journey through the water cycle.  I start the water cycle by evaporating and turning into a gas.
  • Evaporation: The process of changing a liquid into a gas using solar radiation.
  • I am now in the phase of condensation!  I am collecting in a cloud as a water droplet.
  • Condensation: When water vapor in the air changes into liquid water and forms clouds.
  • I am now in the phase of precipitation.  When I got too heavy for the cloud to hold, gravity pulls me down.
  • Precipitation: Water released from clouds as rain, sleet, snow, or hail due to gravity.
  • Now I am in the accumulation phase.  I am flowing down a stream to collect back into the ocean.
  • Accumulation: The process in which water pools in large bodies.
  • And now I'm back where I started.  Thanks to the sun I have gone through the water cycle.
  • None of this would be possible without me.  The solar radiation comes from me.
