Storyboard Text

  • I am the ghost of Isaac Newton, one of the greatest  physicists and mathematicians in the world.
  • Woah! Who are you?!
  • Well, for one, I created the 3 laws of motion, which are still used in physics today.
  • Cool! But, what exactly are you famous for?
  • You see, even though I am dead, I am still relevant in your world. Without me, you wouldn't have calculus!
  • Isaac Newton was born on December 25/January 4, 1642/1643 in Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire, England, and died on March 20, 1727 in London, England.  (1)
  • And...I had a great impact on the Renaissance time period. I influenced others to think creatively and use their minds for something amazing!
  • The three laws of motion include: For every action there is an equal opposite reaction Force equals mass times acceleration Every object in a state of uniform motion will remain in that state of motion unless an external force acts on it (2)
  • Yes, I know. But I really should be on my way. Goodbye now.
  • That's so cool dude!
  • Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibniz independently invented calculus in the mid-17th century (3)
  • And remember, what we know is a drop, what we don't know is an ocean.
  • ...
  • Isaac Newton "brought back" learning and science during the Renaissance after the Middle Ages.
  • He helped the world climb out of the big slumber it was in before the Renaissance, The Middle Ages.
  • -Isaac Newton, 1642/3-1727 (1)
