  • Hi everybody! Im Terry the Tucan! Today we'ell be traveling through the carbon cycle!
  • In the atmosphere, carbon exists in a form of carbon dioxide that we breathe out everyday. When carbon is removed from the atmosphere, it goes to plants were they make food like corn. This process is called photosynthesis.
  • Next, Carbon in plants are transferred to the animal through the food chain. For example, these cows eat grass which has carbon from the atmosphere. This process repeats until we reach top of the food chain, which is you humans out there.
  • MOO
  • When humans burn fossil fuels to power electricity plants and factories, heat our homes, and run our vehicles. Most of this carbon enters the air through the form of carbon dioxide.
  • Also, animals release carbon dioxide into the air through respiration. Animals take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide when respire.
  • Carbon moves from plants to animals into the ground through animal droppings or when they die. Sometimes, the dead are buried under the ground and subjected to heat and pressure. Over millions of years, they can turn into fossil fuels.
  • Lastly, the carbon moves back into the oceans and back into the atmosphere. AND THATS THE CARBON CYCLE!
