- Congratulations on buying your first home! Have you paid the stamp duty?
- Hahaha! No! No! It's not the duty of a stamp! It's something that must be payed to the government when you buy a house or a block of land. The purpose of stamp duties is to create revenue for each state and territory which goes to improving healthcare, education and more.
- Thanks Matt! Wait what's the stamp duty? Is it the duty of a stamp?
- Oh thanks Matt! We'll do it as soon as possible. Thanks so much for you help along the way of us buying this house!
- We'll have to renovate this for it to be perfect. But first of all, we need to clean this place up.
- Yeah, good idea. The past owners really didn't clean this place up. There's grass coming out of the floorboards!
- Sure we can do that for you! You'll have to get council approval from your local government before we can start construction.
- So, is this where you want to build and extension for your home?
- Oh yes, but fortunately, we've already gotten approval from the council.
- Yep! We chose this area because it could do with a bit of love, and besides, our home needs to be extended anyway since it's too small right now.
