In chapter 6; Sucker it is mentioned that the warden's house is a fancy mansion.
In chapter 7; Big for Seventh Grade it is stated that Al Capone does the laundry on Alcatraz.
According to Gennifer Choldenko's author's note "the families of most of the guards and prison administrators lived on the island."
According to the author's note "The warden lived in a beautiful mansion located right next to the door to the cell house.
As the author's note states "Capone's first job was working the mangle in the laundry facility, but however the laundry scheme never happened."
