The Great Gatsby is a tear-jerking novel that takes place in New York in the 1920s, about a wealthy man named Gaspy that chases his American dream and tries to find love in the arms of a lover who is in a relationship.
Nick Carraway is a stockbroker who moved to New York for work and to reunite with his cousin Daisy. While there, he met with Tom Buchanan, Daisy's Husband. He also meets Daisy's closest friend, Jordan Baker.
Nick moves into a house in West Egg, New York. His neighbor, Jay Gatsby lives in a mansion and throws parties often. Over time Gatsby and Nick become closer and although Gatsby has already met Daisy, Nick later led Gatsby to daisy once again.
Gatsby and Daisy reignite their love for each other and begin seeing each other behind Tom's back. While tom also meets with his mistress.
Daisy decides to attend Gatsby's party with Tom. While she is there she talks to Tom in private saying she never loved him and wants to be with Gatsby. At this party, Gatsby reveals his true self to Nick, and everything that he has said about himself was made up; including his name.
When Gatsby and Tom fight over Daisy, in a heated argument Daisy and Gatsby head back home where they accidentally run over Tom's mistress. With bad intensions Tom tells the mistress' husband that Gatsby killed her. And her husband shoots Gatsby.
