Storyboard Text

  • Order in the court! The Vikings have been accused of being barbaric pillagers. Prosecuting party, please give your information.
  • The Vikings were known for their fierce war ships specifically designed for quick and quiet sneak attacks on unsuspecting villages. This proves they had cruel battle tactics.
  • I'M TRYING MY BEST TO SUPPORT THIS FAMILY KAREN! OKAY?
  • The Viking villages, built in the fjords of Scandinavia, did not have fertile soil for farming. They did not have enough food to support the growing population, and so they turned to a more faulty method- pillaging.
  • OATMEAL WHAT DO WE DO? WE HAVEN'T EATEN IN DAYS!
  • Dad, I'm hungry!
  • I know, Oatmealson.
  • The Viking army savagely attacked unsuspecting villages and raided them for supplies, killing innocent civilians and setting fire to buildings.
  • Possibly one of the worst actions the Vikings committed was the attack on the church in Lindisfame. The Vikings completely destroyed the church while violently slaughtering the inhabitants. Then, they looted the church and raided it for supplies.
  • And so, in conclusion, the Vikings are guilty of being barbaric pillagers and cruel warriors who mistreated their surrounding civilizations. They should not be regarded highly in history because of their misdeeds against others. Although some may defend the Vikings because they were simply trying to survive, there were peaceful alternatives available to provide for their population. Please consider this evidence given in your final verdict.
