Storyboard Text

  • "Come, you spirits/ That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here,/ And fill me from the crown to the toe top-full/ Of direst cruelty" (1.V.47-50).
  • "This castle hath a pleasant seat. The air/ Nimbly and sweetly recommends itself/ Unto our gentle senses" (1. vi. 1-3).
  • "Nor heaven peep through the blanket of the dark/ To cry 'Hold, hold!'" (1. v. 60-61).
  • Lady Macbeth is wishing for evil spirits to take her humanity away from her so that she will be only made out of evilness with no remorse.
  • King Duncan arrives at Macbeth's home and he is completely oblivious to Lady Macbeth and Macbeth's evil plan.
  • The motif of darkness found in Macbeth represents evil. Lady Macbeth wanting for a blanket of darkness to cover her  murderous actions from heaven's light really goes to show how bad she really is.
