  • Plessy was 1/8 black and sat in the whites-only spot on a train and he refused to move him. So they removed him from the train.
  • Plessy was found guilty, but later on, the case was brought to the supreme court and Justice Brown explained the sperate but equal cause as long as the races public facilities were equal.
  • The congressional Civil Rights Act of the 1950s and 1960s ended the segregation state law. Many of the states rewrote their state constitutions to confirm the 14th amendment.
