- John and Elizabeth discuss John's actions with Abigail and her feelings towards John. They both know that Abby wants to be with John. Elizabeth tells John to tell her that they will never be together.
- Mary Waren comes home from being in Court. John told Mary to go into town. Mary is feeling important because she was invited into court to determine who has been doing witchcraft. Mary then tells them that Elizabeth has been accused.
- Reverend Hale comes to talk to both of them. And then she gets arrested by Cheever. And then Abby notices Mary left a needle in the doll she was going to give Mrs. Proctor. And everyone believes this is witch craft.
