Okay students today we are studying the history of immunity
But today we know that illness is the result of bacteria or viruses. Or even your own body.
In Medieval times people believed that sickness was a result of of demons punishing people for their sins. Those who got sick were sinners and ostrisized from society.
Sickness such as Cancer, small pox, and HIV once meant certain death but with new technology people can live longer and happier lives without worry. Vaccines are widely used to prevent diseases like small pox or polio.
I read somewhere that parents with an incompatible rH factor could not have kids
While true in the past medicine now helps parents like that
Is it true that antibiotics kill all bacteria.
Because we have used so many antibiotics some bacteria have become resistent and are called superbugs
In the end what we know about immunity today has changed tremendously from what it was in the past.
