Storyboard Text

  • Prisoners singing in jail cell
  • "Turn me aroundTurn me around"
  • Fight Breaks loose
  • Get out of here you don't belong
  • What do you want?
  • Children part of the protest
  • F'eedom
  • I chose this event because I thought it was important how the prisoners were trying to make the best out of being in jail and having all their rights taken away. They sang songs and even when they were threatened still tried to make the best of it.
  • Barack Obama's inauguration
  • January 20, 2009
  • I Barack Hussein Obama do solemnly swear...
  • Are you ready?
  • I chose this event because I thought it was important to show what happened when black people tried to just use the bathroom. The white people thought they were so much better than the blacks that they could just hit and punch them.
  • March in Washington
  • We want freedom!!
  • I chose this event because I thought it was important to see the children's perspective especially black children. They knew what was going on and how they were being treated unfairly. It shows what children had to go through just to be free.
  • Sit-in
  • May be please be served?
  • No get out
  • I chose this event because I thought it was important that after all the hard work that black people fought for and how long they protested for there was a black president. Barack Obama showed the world that after hard work things really do pay off.
  • I chose this event because I thought it was important how so many people showed up to the March on Washington. In the beginning of all the protests there was a small group of people who protested and then more started to get involved and make more change.
  • I chose this event because I thought it was important to show the starting events of protesting. They started protesting small in restaurants and movie theaters and gradually made bigger and more powerful protests such as marches and social gatherings.
