Storyboard Text

  • In preparation of getting your L license, you need to study. You'll have access to videos online, and the textbook for help.
  • You can practice questions at home with a parent or any qualified driver.
  • This also means you need to pass a vision screening test!
  • The test will include things such as knowing the road signs, the road rules, and safe driving tips. It'll be based off the *Drive Smart* textbook.
  • Once you feel ready, you'll be able to take the test. It can take up to an hour so be prepared.
  • You need 40 out of 50 questions correct!
  • Once you've passed the test you'll be able to drive with a learner's license.
  • L
  • You should run over the learner restrictions with a capable driver.
  • You need to drive with your L license for 12 months. It stays valid for two years. On the road you need to be next to a qualified driver.
  • Make sure to go over restrictions with them (no electronics, passenger limit, restricted hours).
  • N
  • After 12 months, you can prepare for your N test.  Know how to handle different weather and road conditions.
  • The test will involve using different skills (parking, intersections) in a safe manner. It will last approximately 45 minutes.
  • However once you get your novice license, doesn't mean you're off scoff free! There are still restrictions, like passenger limit and device usage
  • But now you have the ability to drive on your own! Two more years and you'll have your full license! Safe driving!
