  • The Proclamation Of 1763 stated that colonists were not permitted to cross the Appalachian mountains. They passed this law to not aggravate the Native Americans.
  • Townshend Acts
  • You will be taxed on more items, but we won't even tell you! HAHAHA
  • The colonists were then taxed on molasses and tea. They were not happy about it, so they smuggled the items.
  • Tea Act
  • MWAHAHA! We don't care if you like tea or not, you will be taxed anyway
  • Next, colonists were taxed on printed goods. This included paper, newspapers, books, cards, and a lot more.
  • Intolerable Acts
  • You must take this soldier into your home.
  • Then, the colonists were taxed on lead, glass, tea, and paint. The British tried to be sneaky and tax the items at the port, but the colonists found out. They began stealing the tea.
  • The British responded to the tea smuggling by passing a law that forced colonists to be taxed on tea, whether they bought it or not.
  • The Tea Act caused the Boston Tea Party, and the British were mad. They passed a plethora of laws, including a new quartering act. This angered the Colonists, and all of these Acts led up to the Revolutionary War.
