A wedding feast was taking place on Mount Olympus. All of the Gods, and Goddesses, were invited to join. Eris, the Goddess of Discord, was not invited though. So Eris came to the party with a golden apple written “To Be Fairest.”
Zeus then told Hermes, the Messenger God, to pick a judge. Hermes picked Paris, a young mortal and the son of Priam. Paris had three goddesses to choose from, each having their own gift. Hera will allow him to become the ruler of the world, Athena offered him to win every war, and Aphrodite would help him have the most beautiful wife in the world. Hermes picked Aphrodite out of the three.
Paris, lured by Aphrodite’s promise, entered the palace of Menelaus. He then successfully seduce the queen, and was able to take her away.
Due to the theft of Helen, the oath of Tyndareus was made. On top of that, the Greek warriors were now on the hunt to save Helen.
The Greeks were unsuccessful in their besieges for a decade. Until a man named Odysseus came along and created a wooden horse to fill the Greeks in.
The Greeks were able to successfully infiltrate the city and raid it fully, winning the Trojan War.
