The Continental Army appointed generals such as George Washington and Marquis de Lafayette. Both of them persisted throughout the war and remained determined to defeat the British. With good military leaders, the Continental was able to be victorious.

What do we do?
Continental army were more familiar with the land. They knew specific locations of where to use Gorilla Warfare against the British. Some of the British soldiers never came to the colonies until after the war started making them uncertain of where to go.

The colonies were fighting for independence for their new country and separation from Great Britain. Unlike the British, the soldiers had the will to fight. The Continental army were ready to fight for what was theirs.

The Continental army were mostly young men between ages 18-26. The army also consisted of men who were either blacksmiths or farmers of whom never held a musket before. Inexperienced men was what the army consisted of much so.
The beginning of the revolution the Continental army was very much smaller than the British. The army at Valley Forge only consisted of 10,000 and even then 2,500 died from the winter.
The Continental army suffered from shortage of basically everything. They were short of food, supples, ammunition, and uniforms. Washington was furious because men were dying from the lack of food.
