Another F. I study all night long and I can't even get a passing grade. How come other kids can get a 100% without studying? I'm so stupid. There's no point in even trying anymore.
Later that day...
Whatever Lena. You're always making things worse. Why am I even friends with you? Just leave it I'll pick it up myself.
Oh My Gosh! I'm so sorry Haley. I didn't mean to run into you. Let me help you pick up your stuff.
I'm so sick of basketball. Normally, I love this sport but I just don't want to play it anymore.
Over the next couple of weeks, Haley's grades begin to drop lower and lower, she begins to hate basketball even more, and often finds herself losing her temper. She keeps pushing Lena away. Lena had been her friend since kindergarten. Finally, Lena decides to confront Haley about her recent behavior.
Hey Haley. So recently I've noticed that you haven't been yourself. I've seen the grades you have been getting, which are lower than normal. You haven't been excited about playing basketball and you haven't been your normal bubbly self.
I want to let you know that you're not alone. I have felt the same way as you. I think that we should go together to talk to an adult about how you are feeling because I am concerned about you.
I think your right. I definitely need help. I can't go through this alone.
I'll come with you to talk to your parents about how you are feeling if you would like.
Later that night...
Mom, dad, I've been feeling very down and stressed out lately. Normally, when I feel like this it goes away but I don't think it will this time. I need help from you guys to get better.
