- I know! I shall introduce a feudal system! I will be at the top as their King and govern the kingdom whilst keeping the peace.

- William I introduced the feudal system in the 12th century. He did this to keep control of society and to measure the wealth and power that he had at his disposal. A King takes an oath when he is crowned to fulfil his duty, such as keeping the peace, administering justice, upholding the law and keeping power
