Photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplast of a plant cell when a plant converts the sun's energy into food energy which is glucose
Cellular respiration is converting chemical energy from photosynthesis [glucose] into usable energy [ATP]. It takes place in the mitochondria
C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H20 + ATP
Now what is the equation for cellular respiration?
The way that Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration work together is by, Photosynthesis converts carbon dioxide and water into oxygen and glucose. Then Cellular respiration converts oxygen and glucose into water and carbon dioxide. Water and carbon dioxide are by- products and ATP is energy that is transformed from the process.
Alcoholic Fermentation- it occurs in yeast. This process is used in baking bread and brewing, Carbon Dioxide causes dough to rise. The equation is: C6H12O6 → 2 C2H5OH + 2 CO
The next thing we will talk about are the two different types of fermentation, here are the definitions on the board
Lactic Acid- it occurs in muscle cells. It usually occurs when you are extersing it builds up in the muscles and creates that burning feeling. The equation is: C6H12O6 --> 2CH3CH(OH)CO2H
