  • EXPOSITION
  • Oskar Schindler is in his office in his enamelware factory looking out his window at Krakow, Poland.  He looks out over the town and looks at all of the landmarks, such as the ghetto and the strange building far away.  Oskar's accountant, Iztak Stern, tells him that the Nazi general, Amon Goeth, is at the door.  Oskar says to let him in.
  • RISING ACTION
  • Amon Goeth then storms into Oskars room yelling something about jews and how they were being disrespectful.  In his screaming Goeth suggests that Oskar cares about his jewish workers.  Oskar then offers Goeth a drink and Goeth starts getting drunk.  After the day is over Oskar goes to the bar and also gets drunk.
  • CLIMAX
  • The next day, Oskar wakes up to rain.  While driving to work past the Krakow ghetto Oskar hears gunshots.   Oskar climbs a nearby hill to see whats going on.  He sees that the ghetto is destroyed and that jews are being rounded up and sent to the newly built concentration camp.  Oskar then decides to help as many jews as he possibly can.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • Oskar rushed over to his factory to make sure his jews are okay.  When he got there he saw Goeth standing at the front gate.  Goeth excitedly tells Oskar that the new concentration camp is open for business and that he will need Oskar's jews.  Oskar refuses and argues with Goeth.

  • RESOLUTION
  • The next few days Oskar bribed and argued with a lot of people over his jewish workers.  In the end, Oskar managed to keep his jews by making his factory a sub camp of the concentration camp.  Oskar managed to keep his jews safe from the Nazis and was enjoying a well deserved rest.  The rain was gone and the birds were chirping again.
