Malala Yousafzai was born in Swat Valley, Pakistan and was poor. She adored her school, but everything changed on Tuesday, October 9th, 2012.

Malala moved to her new home, in England. She that life wasn't fair. She knew that people were poor and some were rich. She also didn't choose to be a girl, but she represented it proudly.

Nobody celebrated Malala's birthday because she was a girl. She was named after Malalai of Maiwand , a female hero during war. Her country is a significant part of her and she says it is beautiful.

Malala loves her family dearly, and she knew that each of them were important. They had a lot of history in Swat.
Malala says that while the boys got to roam around and play cricket, she had to cook. The women stayed inside, and she could not go outside without a male relative accompanying her, no matter the age. "Malala will be as free as a bird."
