Boston patriots declared they would abandon their city to flames before they pay a penny for the lost tea.
The Colonies wanted to call a congress meeting to find a a peaceful solution to the conflicts with Great Britan.
In September 1774, 50 leaders from 12 colonies met in Philadelphia to solve the problem.
The delegates agreed to send a respectful letter to King George. The letter urged the king to consider their complaints and to regonize their rights.
Patriots gathered committees to enforce a boycott and, in case the boycot did not work, they also began to organize local militias.
Across the colonies militias marched and drilled. They stole 100 barrels of gun powder and 16 cannons from a British fort, similar theft happened in other colonies.
