  • Estates-General Meeting/Tennis Court Oath
  • Before the Revolution, there was bad harvest in the years of 1787 and 1788.  These bad harvest led to a slowdown in food, and also the rising prices of food; one which was a French necessity, bread.  This made French citizens chaotic, especially the peasant since most were very poor.

  • Estates were worried that the king was preparing for an attack, so they believed they needed to be prepared also.  But there was a problem to this, they did not have any gunpowder, so they decided to attack the Bastille when they heard there was gunpowder stored inside.  Only realizing the situation was hopeless, Lanuay surrendered and was eventually killed.
  • Women revolted against the king unfair price of bread and staring marching from the market place tot he palace.  With more women and some men continuing to join the march.  The King would met some of the women and would provide them food also, many also wanted to see the queen, blaming her for France's financial problems.
