Social wellness is determined by your ability to communicate with others in social situations. People with social wellness are able to create strong relationships with their peers and are able to meet the needs of others when solving conflict.
Your Mental/Emotional wellness is determined by how well you handle conflict and stress in your life. There are three stages of stress, the alarm, resistance, and exhaustion stage. There are many ways to manage your stress, these are called stress management techniques.
Defense Mechanisms are ways that your brain subconciously uses to help you deal with stressful situations. Types of defense mechanisms are denial, escape/fantasy, rationalization, projection, repression, identification, displacement, regression, compensation and sublimation. This is an example of displacement, taking your emotions out on someone who isn't related to the problem.
