Since the crowning of King Henry I, Robert and Henry did not get along well. In fact in 1106 Henry invaded Normandy and kept Robert as his prisoner till his death in 1134.
After becoming King, Henry married Matilda, the daughter of Malcolm III of Scotland. Marrying Matilda gave Henry a stronger chance to rule and marrying Henry gave Matilda an opportunity for a high status as she was an ambitious woman.
In late November 1135 Henry fell ill by eating too many lampreys (a type of eel) against his doctors advice. He died on 1st of December and was buried at Reading Abbey.
