Gilgamesh has grown as a person and learned many things after facing many terrible dangers and the death of Gilgamesh but not starts fresh as a better ruler of the kingdom of Uruk.
Reward / Consequence
Ishtar convinces her father Annu to send the bull of heaven. Together Enkidu and Gilgamesh kill the Bull of Heaven.
The Road Back
As their journey came to an end, one of their last task was to pay a visit to the ogre Humbaba. They roamed through Cedar Forest, killing Humbaba.
The death of Humbaba and the Bull infuriated the gods. This resulted in the gods punishing both men by killing Enkidu, Gilgamesh's best friend. Gilgamesh decided to start a new journey, paying a visit to the god of immortality, Utnapishtim.
Gilgamesh paid Utnapishtim and begged him for eternal life. Gilgamesh was upset when he found out only the gods can give him eternal life. Utnapishtim informed Gilgamesh about a plant at the bottom of the ocean, granting him eternal life.
Gilgamesh was exhausted from retrieving the plant and fell asleep. While asleep, a snake snuck up on the plant and ate it. He then realizes and learns something. He returns as a a better king and is more acceptable of death and overall life.
