  • Hello! My name is Cisco, and I love direct democracy! Direct Democracy is a form of democracy in which people decide on policy initiatives directly. An example of direct democracy is the ancient Athens. Direct democracy is the best!
  • But why is direct democracy the best?
  • Well I will tell you!
  • Direct Democracy requires a lot of things, but they are good requirments that structure the government. It requires participaton, transparency, accountability, cooperation, discipline, and responsibility.
  • Cisco explains what direct democracy is!
  • In direct democracy, votes count! Sometimes in a government, when you vote, it doesn't feel like it doesn't even count. But in a direct democracy, you will never get that feeling! Usually, people are happy! There is more cooperation within societal demographics in a direct democracy, too!
  • So if you want to know who the leader is, I will tell you! The greatest and long-lasting democratic leader was Pericles. Pericles was the orator and general of Athens during the Golden Age. The Athens, in which citizens voted directly on legislation and executive bills. Any male citizen could participate in the main democratic body of Athens and any citizen could speak and vote.
