1492 Christopher Columbus, an Italian explorer from Spain, landed in the Americas. He was looking for a safer and faster route to Asia
The year 1519, explorer Pineda set out from Jamaica to map the coast of Mexico. He was known as the first European to observe the Texas coast but could not finish the mission because Cortes and his men saw them as a threat and some of his men were arrested.
1519, Cortes was sent by the governor of Cuba. He and his men were seen as Gods by the Aztec because of their horses and armor. He later overthrew the Aztec with the help of his enemies and acquired gold and silver which he sent to back to Spain and making them rich.
Cabeza de Vaca ships were wrecked and he was taken in by the Karankawa and he went around as a medicine man. He traveled tribe to tribe and when he finally made his way to Mexico city he spreaded "stories" about Cibola.
In 1540 Cornado had tried to find the city of Cibola but instead explored the Grand Canyon, The Pacific Ocean, and present-day Kansas.
La Salle and his crew built fort St Louis at Matagorda Bay but ran out of supplies and while he was away getting supplies, it got attacked by Indians .And when he was on his was on his way back, he got murdered by his men on the way back from his trip and died.
