  • Underground Railroad
  • Popular sovereignty allowed Kansas to vote, the result of the election was pro slavery. This caused fighting to break out, which lead to "Bleeding Kansas". John brown and his men burned down the capital.
  • Dredd Scott Court Case
  • California became part of the unit and New Mexico and Utah would be decided by popular sovereignty. The north refused to follow the fugitive slave act and the south was pissed.
  • Election of 1806
  • Secret buildings and routes that helped slaves escape
  • Missouri Compromis
  • Missouri is now part of the South
  • Maine is now part of the North
  • This court case declared that the Missouri compromise was unconstitutional, that the entire nation was open to slavery
  • Abraham Lincoln was elected president after the civil war
  • There was an unbalance between free and slave states, so Missouri joined the Confederation and Maine joined the Union
