Betrayal/Deceit. Christopher does not like being lied to as he feels like it is a betrayal to him. He does find that white lies are okay. He had told a white lie when he had returned home and was confronted by his father since he had not told him where he would be. Christopher decided that he would not tell his father where he was, so he had created the white lie.
LogicvsEmotion. Christopher likes to act logical when it comes to things. He tends to see things logically at all times instead of using his emotions most times. However he does explain his emotions with logic involved when he is feeling an emotion very strongly. An instance was when his father had started yelling at him and Christopher had become extremely scared that the would hit him.
Trust. Throughout the novel, Christopher is shown to value honesty the most. Even at the worst times, he still prefers everyone to be honest rather lie. He speaks of how he is always honest. This happened during the time his father had picked him from the police station and asked Christopher if he was lying about his emotions to reach Christopher replied he always tells the truth.
