Joseph Brant led his army in a raid in many townships.
Destroy the village, kill any men you see!

Tusten, one of the generals, was very opposed to pursuing Brant, but was overruled as practically everyone wanted to pursue him.
Lets go kill those Indians! Brant will pay!
No, we should wait for reinforcements!
Col. Hathorn met up with the men and 120 men marched upwards in pursuit of Brant.
Let's kill Brant!
They found Brant, and closed in to try to ambush him, but an accidental shot was fired and Brant was alerted of the ambush. The battle began.
We have defeated them!
In the end, Brant's army was more skilled than the villagers, they defeated the villagers, about 45 militiamen died that day. The other 80 militiamen escaped. Brant's army only lost seven soldiers.
The dead were not found for about 43 years. The battlefield was too distant and dangerous to get to. In the end, the bodies were found and a memorial was made to honor their deaths.
